Not all stainless is non-magnetic
The common assumption is that stainless never sticks to a magnet, but that only holds for some grades. Others are mildly magnetic, so the magnet test alone will not tell you what you have.
Bring it in either way. Stainless is worth keeping apart from your plain steel rather than letting it grade down with the load.
